Art Nouveau

I've been a fan of/obsessed with fluid, flowing lines since I was a kid. It struck a chord somewhere before I even knew what I was looking at.

I share the puzzlement expressed by some American Indian tribes in the 1800's regarding the white man's obsession with square things: square houses, square blocks, square buildings, square boxes.

Hmmm... last time I checked, nothing in the natural world is square... and trying to make square things gives me a headache. This is why my wife was horrified when I built some shelves for my office (it's okay, no one got hurt, they work, and besides, they're in the closet where no one can see them).
