This is my favorite Syd Mead image, and it says a lot about who he is: visual futurist, gifted industrial designer, incredible illustrator (by the way, no airbrushes or computers were used to create this image). I have no idea what it represents, but it sets my imagination on fire.

This is the guy who made the world of Blade Runner seem plausible and real.

Do yourself a favor. Skip taking the family to Outback Steakhouse just one time and get one of the pricey Japanese Syd Mead coffee table books. You won't regret it.
