Benjamin Bowden A wonderfully futuristic and classic design for what was considered in 1946 a fairly pedestrian object, the Bowden Spacelander bicycle combined the fluid lines of Art Nouveau with the aerodynamic flow of the sleekest fighter jets which it pre-dated. It says "forward motion" even standing still. Today's "unobtanium" expensive wonderbikes seem dull and utilitarian in comparison. This bike was (though I didn't think of it at the time) an inspiration for The Pantages. |
